Planning an unforgettable bachelorette party in Austin? Choosing the perfect experience can make all the difference between an ordinary gathering and a celebration everyone remembers.
Austin offers exciting nightlife, waterfront restaurants, beautiful lakes, and incredible group activities. However, celebrating on a private party boat brings something different to the experience.
That is why many bridesmaids wonder whether a double-decker boat for a bachelorette party in Austin is worth booking.
The answer is yes, especially for groups that enjoy swimming, music, dancing, beautiful views, and spending quality time together.
A double-decker party boat offers additional space, elevated lake views, and exciting features that can make a celebration memorable.
With Big Tex Boat Rentals, groups can explore double-decker boats on Lake Travis and Lake Austin with experienced captains.
This guide explains the benefits, available amenities, pricing considerations, and essential planning tips for your upcoming bachelorette celebration.
Why Choose a Double Decker Boat for a Bachelorette Party in Austin?
A double-decker boat offers more than an ordinary boat rental. Its two-level design creates different spaces for celebrating, relaxing, and enjoying the scenery.
Some guests might prefer sitting downstairs with drinks and music. Others may enjoy the elevated views from the upper deck when permitted.
This flexibility makes double-decker boat rentals in Austin appealing for groups with different personalities and interests.
Benefits of Double Decker Party Boats
- Spacious seating for group celebrations
- Elevated views of Lake Travis or Lake Austin
- Excellent opportunities for group photography
- Comfortable areas for relaxing and socializing
- Bluetooth sound systems for favorite playlists
- Water slides on selected boats
- Floating mats and recreational accessories
- Captained rentals for convenient lake experiences
These features help transform a traditional lake outing into a memorable Austin bachelorette party.
What Makes Double Decker Boats Different From Regular Pontoons?
Both regular pontoons and double decker boats provide enjoyable lake experiences. However, double decker boats offer additional features that can suit larger celebrations.
Their upper decks create more viewing opportunities, while selected models feature water slides for added entertainment.
Here is a simple comparison.
Feature | Regular Pontoon | Double Decker Boat |
Seating | Comfortable group seating | Seating with multiple deck areas |
Lake views | Main deck views | Elevated viewing opportunities |
Water slides | Available on selected models | Common on many party models |
Photography | Scenic group pictures | Additional elevated photo settings |
Atmosphere | Relaxed and social | Social and adventure-focused |
Best for | Smaller or casual outings | Lively group celebrations |
For groups planning a memorable event, the additional space and recreational features can make a double decker rental worthwhile.
However, passenger capacity varies by vessel. Always confirm the maximum number of guests before booking.

Common Bachelorette Boat Rental Mistakes to Avoid
Even exciting celebrations can become stressful when people overlook important details.

Another is assuming every double-decker boat offers identical slides, seating, or entertainment features.
Avoid these mistakes:
- Booking without checking passenger capacity
- Forgetting captain fees and dock charges
- Waiting too long to reserve popular dates
- Arriving late at the pickup location
- Bringing prohibited decorations
- Ignoring weather conditions
- Forgetting water and sun protection
